The Meaning Behind “Aer”

When I first started dreaming up Aer Cosmetics, I knew I wanted it to be more than just a beauty brand. I wanted it to feel like a return to something real, to the Earth, to simplicity, and to the natural balance that already exists around us.

The inspiration actually began in my Latin classroom. My professor, Ms. Budesa, was the first person I reached out to when I started thinking about a name. After studying Latin and its history for five years, I realized how powerful the language truly is. It’s the foundation of so many modern languages and a reminder that everything begins somewhere.

When I began creating Aer, I kept coming back to that same idea of going back to the roots. I wanted to create a brand that honors what the world has already given us, like clean air, natural ingredients, and a reminder that beauty doesn’t need to be complicated.

After going through ideas with my professor, one word immediately stood out: Aer. In Latin, it means air, and it felt like the perfect fit. It represents everything I wanted Aer Cosmetics to embody — purity, renewal, and connection to the world around us.
